Dr. Nwegbo-Banks is a board certified OBGYN and creator of Unwind and Chat events.

Dr. Peace Nwegbo-Banks is a board-certified OBGYN and creator of Unwind & Chat events. Born in Dallas, TX, she received her baccalaureate at the University of North Texas, where she graduated summa cum laude with distinguished honors. She earned her medical degree at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in College Station, Texas. She then completed her residency training in the world’s largest medical center, at Houston Methodist Obstetrics & Gynecology Program. While there, she received multiple awards for excellence in teaching.

After completing her training, Dr. Nwegbo-Banks served Houston’s indigent population as an OBGYN Hospitalist and Clinical Assistant Professor with The University of Texas. During this time, she was nominated for the esteemed Physician of the Year Award.
Dr. Nwegbo-Banks has special interests in patient advocacy, the reduction in black maternal mortality, uterine fibroid treatment, menopause management, and female sexual health. She is a member of several professional organizations, including Houston Medical Forum, Texas Medical Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She serves as President-Elect for the Houston Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas. She is passionate about all things related to women’s health, community empowerment, and creating safe spaces for women. She resides in Third Ward, where she enjoys life with her husband and newborn son. Her hobbies include spending time with family, traveling, working out, and leisure reading.
